Klarrio, a leading developer of Open Source software solutions and complex data platforms, has named Lieven Gesquière as Senior Director of Core Research & Development.
Gesquière will be responsible for overseeing Klarrio’s R&D teams and processes at all of the company’s five offices in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, and the United States. He will also manage all R&D resources, in addition to playing a strategic role in helping Klarrio scale its end-to-end cloud-native solutions as technology continues to evolve in the future.
“I consider my primary job to be to prepare Klarrio R&D for its next significant growth cycle, while fostering ongoing growth and talent in our technical and managerial capabilities system-wide,” Gesquière said.
“After 10 years in business, Klarrio has already proven its leadership position, and we did so by adhering to a set of principles that haven’t changed from the very first day we opened our doors. We have always provided organizations with infrastructure-agnostic Open Source architectures that allow our customers to own their own data and control their own destinies in ways that will never hold them hostage to an outside third party.
“Today we call it data sovereignty, but a decade ago, Klarrio simply called it common sense,” he added.
Gesquière first joined Klarrio in October 2024 and previously served as Sr. Director Technology—Roadmap and Vision. He holds a Masters Degree in Electronics but has been passionate about computer technology since his early teens.
